School District 27J is now accepting applications for open enrollment for the 2010-11 school year. Applications must be submitted to the schools of choice. If you are interested in having your student attend a school other than your attendance area school next year, the District’s Open Enrollment/Choice policy allows for open enrollment requests to be considered on a limited basis for the next school year. Transportation of students participating in open enrollment is the responsibility of the parents/guardians.
All the materials required to apply for Open Enrollment are posted on below. Your Application for Open Enrollment/Choice must be received by the school you wish your student to attend no later than Friday, February 19, 2010. Principals will make a decision on the application request in March 2010.
PRIORITY FACTORS:
In schools considering applications for Open Enrollment/Choice, for each grade level where the number of open enrollment applicants exceeds the number of spaces available, principals will determine acceptance of applicants based on the following order of priority:
1) Students who reside within the attendance area of the school they wish to attend.
2) Student applicants who reside within the district but do not reside within the attendance area and who previously attended the school they wish to attend.
3) New student applicants who reside within the district who are siblings of a currently enrolled student who live at the same residence as the currently enrolled student.
4) New student applicants who reside within the district and are not siblings of a currently enrolled student.
5) Student applicants who reside outside of the district and who previously attended the school they wish to attend.
6) New student applicants who reside outside of the district who are siblings of a currently enrolled student and who live at the same residence as the currently enrolled student.
7) New student applicants who reside outside of the district and are not siblings of a currently enrolled student living at the same residence

Matricula abierta a la escuela de preferencia
Ciclo escolar 2010-2011
Si usted está interesado en que hijo asista a una escuela que no pertenece a su escuela de asignación para el próximo ciclo escolar, el reglamento de Matricula abierta a la escuela de preferencia le permite al distrito que considere esta oportunidad y que lo haga de forma limitada. El transporte para los estudiantes que se inscriban en la matricula abierta es responsabilidad de los padres o tutores legales.
A continuación están todas las formas que necesita llenar para inscribirse en la matricula abierta. Su solicitud deberá ser recibida en la escuela a la que desea que su hijo asista sin más tardar el Viernes, 19 de febrero de 2010. Los directores toman la decisión final de aceptación a partir de marzo de 2010.
FACTORES IMPORTANTES:
Los directores de la escuela determinarán la aceptación dependiendo del cupo que tengan y de acuerdo a la siguiente orden de prioridad:
1) Estudiantes quienes residen dentro del área de asistencia de la escuela a la que desean asistir.
2) Estudiantes solicitantes quienes residen dentro del distrito pero no residen dentro del área de asistencia y que han asistido previamente a la escuela donde desean asistir.
3) Estudiantes solicitantes nuevos quienes residen dentro del distrito y quienes son hermanos de un alumno ya inscrito y viven en la misma residencia que el estudiante ya inscrito.
4) Estudiantes solicitantes nuevos quienes residen dentro del distrito y quienes no son hermanos de un alumno ya inscrito en el distrito.
5) Estudiantes solicitantes quienes residen fuera del distrito y quienes han asistido previamente a la escuela que desean asistir.
6) Estudiantes solicitantes nuevos quienes residen fuera del distrito y quienes son hermanos de un alumno ya inscrito y viven en la misma residencia que el estudiante ya inscrito.
7) Estudiantes solicitantes nuevos que hagan una petición y que residen fuera del distrito y no son los hermanos del estudiante que actualmente está inscrito en la escuela pero que reside en la misma casa.
