Families who wish to enroll their student in a school other than their attendance area school must complete an Open Enrollment application. Applications for Open Enrollment are accepted for the following school year on a space available basis. Students who are residents of Colorado, but do not reside within School District 27J may apply for enrollment to a school or program in 27J within the Open Enrollment period.
If a family plans to enroll their student in their attendance area school, there is no need to complete the Open Enrollment application. Contact your school to register.

In schools considering applications for Open Enrollment/Choice, for each grade level where the number of open enrollment applicants exceeds the number of spaces available, principals will determine acceptance of applicants based on the following order of priority:

The public schools of School District 27J are open to all children of the district. Any student residing within the boundaries of School District 27J may apply to attend any 27J school that has space available. Most students attend their neighborhood or attendance area school, but the District also offers charter schools, an alternative school, home school support and special programs to serve the needs of each student.

The deadline for consideration for the first round of Open Enrollment requests is Friday, February 18, 2011. Additional applications may be considered after that date if space is available after the first round of application decisions has been made. Principals will make a decision on the initial Open Enrollment requests in March 2011, and will notify parents of the determination.

INSCRIPCIONES PARA LAS ESCUELAS DE PREFERENCIA DURANTE EL CICLO ESCOLAR 2011-2012
Las escuelas públicas del Distrito Escolar 27J están accesibles para todos los niños del distrito. Cualquier estudiante que reside dentro de los límites del Distrito Escolar 27J puede solicitar para asistir a cualquier escuela del 27J siempre y cuando la escuela tenga el espacio disponible. La mayor parte de los estudiantes asisten a la escuela de su vecindario o de asignación, pero el Distrito también ofrece las escuelas autónomas (chárter), escuelas alternativas, apoyo escolar en la casa y programas especiales para servir las necesidades de cada estudiante.
Las familias que desean matricular a su estudiante en una escuela que esté fuera de su área de asistencia deben completar la solicitud de inscripción en la escuela de preferencia. Las solicitudes para la inscripción abierta son aceptadas para el ciclo escolar siguiente dependiendo en el espacio disponible. Los estudiantes que son residentes de Colorado, pero no residen dentro del Distrito Escolar 27J pueden solicitar su inscripción a una escuela o programa en el 27J dentro del período de inscripción abierta.

5) Estudiantes solicitantes quienes residen fuera del distrito y quienes han asistido previamente a la escuela que desean asistir.
6) Estudiantes solicitantes nuevos quienes residen fuera del distrito y quienes son hermanos de un alumno ya inscrito y viven en la misma residencia que el estudiante ya inscrito.
7) Estudiantes solicitantes nuevos que hagan una petición y que residen fuera del distrito y no son los hermanos del estudiante que actualmente está inscrito en la escuela pero que reside en la misma casa.
